Round 2 of the MG Road Racing Championship
23rd / 24th May 2009
Ken Price, in the silver MGTF Cup started the weekend well, qualifying on pole for the class, and winning both of Saturday’s races, however, a broken alternator wire left him stranded in the dummy grid for the first of Sunday’s races. A charge from the back of the 32 strong grid resulted in a fine 10th place and second in the class for the weekend. Meanwhile, after fellow MGTF Cup driver Rodney Gibb from SA crashed his car in Friday practice, the MGRE’s black MGF Trophy 160 was pressed into service for the weekend, Rodney racing well on both days.
